Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond
The mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Youth ranging from 6 to 18 years of age participate in activities that focus on character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skill development, drug/alcohol/tobacco prevention, the arts, and sports, fitness, and recreation.
They accomplish their mission by implementing a youth development strategy, which focuses on establishing a sense of belonging, usefulness, power/influence and competence. They offer a comprehensive program designed to engage youth, stimulate their interests, and provide them with skills essential for successful transitioning into adulthood. They also address the needs of the whole child through programs that impact in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
