EDUCATION

Helping children and youth achieve their potential

Each year in the Richmond-Petersburg region, almost 1,100 students who enter ninth grade fail to graduate with their peers four years later because they drop out of school.

Your support of United Way is making it possible to reverse this trend and give our children a future.

Through funding programs and leading initiatives, you and United Way make a positive impact in children's lives from birth through graduation.

Focus on Young Children
From birth to the age of 5, children need to gain the skills and experiences that will help them succeed in school and in life. One of United Way's top priorities is to ensure that children in the Greater Richmond-Petersburg region gain those skills. To reach this goal, United Way leads Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond in partnership with the Greater Richmond Chamber. Visit the Smart Beginnings website to learn more.
