ElderHomes (New Name - project:HOMES)

ElderHomes is devoted to improving the housing and living conditions of elderly, disabled, and low-income persons in Richmond, Colonial Heights and Hopewell, and the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, and Powhatan. ElderHomes provides a variety of home financing, sales, repair, and construction services and develops affordable multi-unit senior apartments, and single-family market rate homes. Through the Renew Crew, volunteers help more than 250 households each year remain in their homes by making necessary repairs to taxpaying homeowners who do not qualify for government programs.

These improvements may include:  

• Installing wheelchair ramps
• Backyard lighting Window and door locks, peepholes, and household security systems
  
• Household maintenance and exterior upgrades, such as painting, weeding, railing installation
  
• Plumbing and electrical repairs
