These individuals may be unable to consistently produce at competitive levels due to slow work speed, difficulty handling stress, severe physical limitations, difficulty handling multiple tasks, or other factors. Participants are placed in different work areas depending on their skills, interests, and abilities and work availability. Most are paid commensurate wages based on productivity.
The Medical and Adaptive Equipment program provides medical and adaptive equipment and supplies to older adults and persons with disabilities at no cost to enhance their daily living, self-confidence, and independence. Donated items are picked up or received by the program, inspected, repaired (as needed), cleaned, and distributed to those in need.
The Greater Richmond Job Center helps individuals become independent through employment. The program provides support and training to individuals that are unemployed, underemployed, disabled or disadvantaged so that they can develop the skills needed to conduct an effective job search, learn to make positive personal decisions, and develop strategies to address barriers to employment. The Job Center is a complete and comprehensive gathering of resources, information and services, which are specifically designed to add productive wage earners to the workforce. Employment services are geared to assist individuals at their current level of knowledge, experience and ability.
