Hanover Arc
Hanover ARC assists young children with developmental delays and persons with mental retardation. Services include special education summer school scholarships, an adult recreation program, respite care, individual/family support, adaptive equipment lending library. Volunteers enable Hanover ARC to improve the lives of 135 people annually with disabilities.
Programs Supported by the Community Action Fund:
Community Integration and Independence program addresses the respite, education, recreation, adaptive equipment and advocacy needs of children and adults with mental retardation and their families. Program services include outreach, transportation, supervision, and financial aid enabling adults to participate in community recreational events. Due to individual needs, services are designed to allow self-determination and choice. Staff also advocate for and facilitate the development of programs by other agencies, thereby leveraging limited funds.
