Supporting the health and wellness of older adults
Adults over age 65 in the Greater Richmond-Petersburg region -- especially the almost 10,000 older adults who are living in poverty -- need your help to remain healthy and independent, living in their homes as they age.
Your support of United Way makes it possible for these older adults to receive basic-needs services, such as meals and transportation to medical appointments.
Through supporting programs that provide these and other services, such as home-based care, you and United Way are helping more than 11,000 older adults age in place, with dignity.

Focus on the Coming Age Wave
In the upcoming years, the number of adults over age 65 will more than double in the Greater Richmond-Petersburg region. To prepare our community to meet the needs of this growing population, United Way and Senior Connections, the Capital Area Agency on Aging are working together to lead the Age Wave Planning effort.
