HEALTH: United for Older Adults

Supporting Healthy Aging

Having help from family members, friends, neighbors and other community members can be vital for older adults as they age. In our region, there are 30,000 older adults who live alone, with no one to help them. Many cannot afford help.

Join United Way in our work to help older adults live with dignity, safety and independence in our community. Your support assists older adults with meeting basic needs, accessing medical care and staying active. We all have a stake in creating a healthy and prosperous community -- and when older adults succeed, we all win.

Age Wave Ready - Planning for Our Future

In the upcoming years, the number of adults over age 65 will more than double in the Greater Richmond region. To prepare our community for the challenges and opportunities presented by this growing population, United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg and Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging are working together to lead the Age Wave Planning effort.
