The Training

The Emerging Leader Program is a United Way-sponsored leadership development program that offers you the unique chance to take on vigorous challenges you simply won’t find in the everyday workplace environment.  For 12 weeks, you will work with leading organizations like Dale Carnegie, Leadership Metro Richmond,Owens & Minor, Pure Culture, Team Nimbus, Toastmasters and Vedere Consulting and others to build your competencies in:                                                

• Sales/negotiation

   

• Public speaking
  
  

• Networking
  
  

• Emotional Intelligence/Leadership Development
  
  

• Relationship building and more.

   

And, as an added benefit, every Emerging Leader is offered a personal executive coach to focus on your individual needs and develop competencies you identify.

The Job

As an Emerging Leader, you become an integral part of United Way’s staff during the annual fall campaign. Managing a portfolio of company accounts ranging in size and industry, you will provide analytical, marketing and business consultation services that are critical to the success of the fundraising effort. As a result, this robust leadership development experience provides priceless exposure for you and your company.
