Tax Preparation Services
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers free tax help and tax preparation services to individuals and families earning less than $48,279 annually in 2009.
Professionally trained volunteers prepare basic tax returns in convenient locations throughout the community. Most locations offer free electronic filing. Two VITA tax preparation sites are open through October 15th for your convenience. To find the site nearest you, click here. Also, review what you'll need to bring and the credits for which you may be eligible (both will download as a PDF file).
You may also want to check out free online tax prep tools available at myfreetaxes.com for people earning less than $58,000 annually. It's an easy, convenient way to file your own state and federal taxes for free.
For more tax preparation resources visit the VSCPA Tax Resource Center where you'll find free online tax advice, answers to frequently asked tax questions and more.
You also can check the status of your refund with one click of the mouse.
