Interested in Nonprofit Board Service? Take This Class
If you have considered volunteering on a nonprofit board but you're not sure what the work entails, the Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence can help.
The "Building Blocks for Nonprofit Board Members" class will help you understand what it takes to be an effective board member, giving an overview of the basic responsibilities of nonprofit governance. This training is meant for people who have never served on a board and are considering it, or just recently joined a board and would like some additional resources and information.
The 3.5-hour workshop is offered on a monthly basis and costs $35 per person, including all workshop materials and light refreshments. The next sessions are:
- Friday, June 15, 8:00am - 11:30am
- Saturday, July 21, 9:00am - 12:30pm
Participants who successful complete the workshop gain access to the BoardLink database, which is housed on the HandsOn Greater Richmond website, to search for board opportunities.
Register online at: http://pneboardbuildingblocks.eventbrite.com/. Registration closes six hours before the start time of each session.
