Quin Rivers Agency for Community Action

Quin Rivers is a Virginia-based, non-profit corporation serving the Counties of Caroline, Charles City, King and Queen, King William and New Kent. Founded as a Community Action Agency in 1970, the organization pursues a mission of rural economic and community development as the best approach to serve low-to-moderate income clients and the counties within which they reside. They also provide domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence prevention and children's domestic violence services, homelessness prevention programs and indoor plumbing rehabilitation services.

Charles City/New Kent Healthy Families provides a community system of support to strengthen families, promote health, increase safety, and enhance the development of children from before they are born through age 5. Healthy Families provides identification and early intervention for parents and children who are at risk of child maltreatment, poor health, and/or delayed development. The program works to improve physical and emotional health outcomes of children and family members, increase parents’ knowledge and skills in parenting, home management, stress management, and safety, and promote community awareness, education, resource development, and advocacy. Home visiting services are also offered to provide parents with emotional support and education, and promote self-sufficiency, child school readiness, and skills that increase and improve parent-child interactions.
