We are looking for your help to decorate and assemble Snack Packs for our regions youth.
Food insecurity is a lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. An estimated 13% of individuals in our region are food-insecure.
Volunteers with United Way will support basic needs met: food, safety, & housing in our region by making “snacks packs”. Volunteers will have the opportunity to decorate a paper bag, write a note of encouragement, and fill the “snack pack”. Throughout the activity, volunteers can also help unpack supplies to replenish the assembly line and pack-up completed snack packs.
The Snack Packs will go to a family-serving United Way partner organization, Housing Families First! Housing Families First gives families facing homelessness the opportunity to build a legacy for their families by providing a path to a permanent home.
