Inform yourself. Inform your community.
Advocacy goes beyond volunteering and giving in order to drive long-term changes. It starts with informing yourself about our Steps to Success and the ways to create positive, lasting improvements in your life and the lives of your family, friends, neighbors and community. From there, we encourage you to inform your community about these important steps that help everyone find their path to success.
Your advocacy work can create positive change by:
- Developing relationships with local leaders, decision makers and policymakers.
- Sharing information about the work of United Way and the positive efforts to help everyone in the Richmond and Petersburg region.
- Focusing on where we align with other individuals and organizations and work to collectively drive change.
