Lumina Foundation designates Richmond as Talent Hub
United Way to work with partners to accelerate educational attainment in the region
As part of our work with Bridging Richmond, United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg is pleased to announce that the Richmond region has been designated as a Talent Hub by Lumina Foundation. This designation includes a $350,000 award, which will be used to maximize credential attainment and to start to close attainment gaps by 2020.
Together with Bridging Richmond and local higher education institutions, United Way will work to significantly accelerate and advance community and regional credential attainment efforts by improving the ecosystem in which learners follow the pathway to, through and out of their postsecondary experience with a high-quality degree, certificate or other credential.
In the next three years, United Way will work with Bridging Richmond and John Tyler Community College, Reynolds Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University to accelerate degree completion and continue developing the Richmond region as a national Talent Hub.
