Spotlight: Financial Well-being
In addition to covering basic expenses, families and individuals need financial stability to avoid debt, build savings and prepare for unanticipated expenses.
November 2019 – United Way’s Steps to Success framework focuses on nine critical milestones on the path to prosperity. This month we’re focusing on the Financial Well-being Step.
Initiatives & Programs
Our United Way Tax Assistance Programs provide free income tax preparation for households with income of $55,000 or less. Since 2002, we have worked with local social service, nonprofit, faith-based, business and government organizations to strengthen the financial independence of working families in our region. By The Numbers
Our online data hub tracks data related to financial well-being. Indicators include asset poverty, unbanked or underbanked households, unemployment rate, population and children living below 200% poverty thresholds and households spending more than 30% of income on housing.
