Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Locations

Our 2021 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is underway. Here’s the latest list of tax sites and virtual options

In-Person Tax Sites

Our team of staff and volunteers will be preparing income tax returns for qualifying families and individuals at the in-person tax sites listed below. Appointment requirements and hours of operation vary between sites and is subject to change, please make sure to read all available information and follow appointment procedures before arriving to an in-person site.

Charles City Commissioner of the Revenue

Location Open: March 8th – April 7th
Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Chesterfield-Meadowdale Library

Goochland Cares

Virtual VITA

We are once again partnering with Code for America and offering virtual tax assistance, allowing United Way’s IRS-certified volunteers to help you from the security and safety of your home. Learn more here. 

What you will need. To participate in Virtual VITA, you will need the following items: 

  • Smartphone or tablet with a camera. 
  • Valid email address and phone number. 
  • A current SSN or ITIN. 

Who is eligible?  This program is available to any taxpayer with an income below $56,000 with a valid email address and phone number.
