Steps to a Successful School Year
It’s that time of year again: if you grew up on Schoolhouse Rock, then you know you’re about to start hearing all sorts of “Interjections!” Whether it’s “Hooray!” or “Aww,” or “Rats!” may depend on whether you are a parent or a student, but one thing we can all agree is that back-to-school season brings out many emotions.
How you feel about school often has a lot in common with how much success you’ve experienced in the past, and what your expectations are for the year ahead. No matter where you are in the process, excitement can quickly turn to stress if students begin to struggle; that’s why United Way partners with many organizations in our community to ensure that necessary supports are in place to help ALL students see a clear path to success.
In this series, we offer insights into four key milestones on the path to success in education and highlight ways in which your United Way donations are helping students succeed right here in the Greater Richmond and Petersburg region.
