Take a break from the books, and take your
child’s learning journey outdoors.
Building connections and wonder in our youngest learners requires experiences that extend beyond the usual spaces. And building the safe, inviting infrastructure where that can happen is a project in itself.
How it Works
United Way builds and installs educational trails in local parks and other community spaces. These trails help parents, caregivers and communities use everyday moments outdoors to boost school readiness of children in their preschool years. These interactive trails contain 10 signs with expert-approved learning games, each with fun and easy activities for children and adults to do together.
We rely on volunteers to help build and install Born Learning Trails throughout the region. Keep reading to find a trail near you, or contact us to help build more trails in the area.
